| SURGERY Our new state of the art facility includes two fully equipped surgical suites with separate padded induction and recovery rooms designed to maintain a clean and safe environment for the patients. Using the most advanced technology available, we are able to perform a wide range of orthopedic and soft tissue procedures including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, laser surgery, fracture repair and emergency colic surgery. Each surgical team consists of a Board Certified Surgeon recognized by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons assisted by interns and technical support staff, responsible for monitoring each case. MEDICINE Medical or performance related problems are evaluated by our clinicians using the latest technology in imaging including radiography, video endoscopy (including gastroscopy) and ultrasonography. We provide neonatal intensive care for both premature and problem foals. Our intensive care unit is fully equipped for cases which may require respiratory therapy or ventilatory support. |  |
 | LABORATORY The clinicians at Willamette Valley Equine have access to reliable and comprehensive laboratory results twenty-four hours a day. Our on-site laboratory services include hematology. blood gases, serum chemistry, serum electrolytes, cytology and semen evaluation. Area practitioners or referring veterinarians are invited to make use of our laboratory facilities. DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES An accurate diagnosis is the most critical step in developing the appropriate therapeutic plan. Our diagnostic imaging capabilities include a radiographics system with capacity for skull, cervical spine, upper extremities, chest and abdominal radiographs. Detailed sonography is available for the evaluation of tendinous injuries and intra-abdominal organs. Board certified radiologists are available for consultation and review of radiographic and sonographic images. |
REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES Willamette Valley Equine has a fully equipped reproduction center allowing us to offer routine and advanced reproductive procedures. Mare services include breeding soundness exams, artificial insemination with shipped cooled and frozen semen, embryo harvesting, and managing fertility problems. Stallion services include breeding soundness exams including evaluation for shipping, phantom training, stallion collection, and semen processing. Facilities are also available for foaling. DENTISTRY Proper dental care is critical to the health and performance of the equine patient. Routine and advanced dental techniques including extractions, corrections of molar and incisor malocclusions and dental equiplibration are available. Dental procedures can be performed in the clinic or on an ambulatory basis. PATIENT CARE Our hospital includes and intensive care unit for horse recovering from surgery or illness, a separate isolation facility for horses with potentially contagious diseases and a general ward for non-critical cases and out patients. All inpatient facilities are 100% environmentally controlled. Our clinicians have access to a fully stocked pharmacy, and the hospital staff is on duty twenty-four hours a day. |  |
| . AMBULATORY CARE Willamette Valley Equine offers full service ambulatory care for area horse owners, breeding farms and training facilities. Our clinicians are committed to complete equine care. As an added convenience to clients, most of our services are also available on an out patient basis. Ambulatory clinicians are available on a twenty-four hour emergency basis. |
